Fashola inspects office of the Lagos Mortgage Board
"We have spent so much time planning and I think that all of what we have developed must now go public”, he says Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Friday inspected the new office of the Lagos Mortgage Board in the lkeja Central Business District saying the Government was now ready to commence the Lagos Home Ownership Mortgage Scheme (Lagos HOMS).
The Lagos Mortgage Board is the agency of the State Government created by Law to provide technical support and organizational manpower for the processing Mortgage applications for the Lagos Home Ownership Mortgage Scheme. Fielding questions from newsmen after the inspection, Governor Fashola said the ideas of putting the Board in the same building with the Lagos Building Investment Company Limited (LBIC), which is the Mortgage Bank for the State, was so that citizens would not have to go and submit their Mortgage forms in one place and come and make their mortgage payments in another place.
Describing the building as “a full service, one stop centre for the Lagos HOMS” when it commences, Governor Fashola said the agency would have custodial ownership of the Homes and they would sell to citizens adding that the office was now ready to commence operation.
